Sometimes it is difficult to see the wood for the trees.....

we just need a helping hand to look over the canopy.

Analysis and forecasting

We are bombarded with data every single day. We just need quick and simple ways to understand it, to make it legible so it can be useful rather than a hindrance to you and your business. At MB Accounting & Business Solutions, we specialise in translating numbers and summarising high volumes of data into clear and useful key facts.

Performance analysis

We undertake income and spend reviews, providing analysis by customers, suppliers and product types, for example. This analysis can enable tailored revenue targeting and cost saving initiatives. Key performance indicators can enable you to understand the performance and health of your business so that you can adapt to achieve your strategic goals.

This analysis can be performed as a standalone detailed exercise or reported on a regular basis in the format of monthly or quarterly management accounts.

Cashflow analysis

Cash management is key to business success.

By analysing cashflow, we can use historical trends and known transactions to forecast future projections, enabling you to maximise cashflow and actively plan responses to surplus and deficit positions.

Budgeting & forecasting

A budget or forecast is an estimate of future financial performance, which is used as a target or to demonstrate achievable future potential of a business over a set time period, for example monthly, quarterly, annual or for multiple years.

A budget or forecast is created by using a set of assumptions, for example volume drivers and pricing of products, fixed and variable costs, market conditions. We use sensitivity analysis to flex these assumptions, so we can quantify the impact on our estimates if variable components within our assumptions change.

As we then move into the period that the budget or forecast relates to, we can compare actual performance to our estimates. We can use variance analysis to understand what is driving the differences between our actual performance and our estimates, and use this to guide strategic actions for the business and to build back into our future budget or forecast.

Cost accounting analysis

Cost analysis can assist in pricing products to maximise profitability for the business. It is important to understand and monitor the cost of the product being sold, especially where a product comprises of multiple parts, either components or work undertaken to develop or bring that product to sale.
